I feel like a horrible lazy person for not having actually started this before now. BUT in my defense I have been out of town and pretty busy, and it took a little while for the submissions to start coming in!

But for those of you who did submit, I love you. I was trying to figure out how to randomly choose a challenge - see, I had this vision of putting them all into a hat and plucking one out, but then I got too lazy writing & tearing out all the little pieces of paper. (Actually, I got too lazy just thinking about doing that.) So I wrote them all down, and all twenty (yes, exactly twenty!) are sitting in a notebook in front of me. I'm about to pull up this Random Number Generator to choose one, and I'm really really hoping it doesn't pick one of the challenges that's illegal or emotionally scarring. I mean, let's start off easy... right?

Here I go. I'm just using which seems pretty legitimate. I don't know. I'm not doing background checks, it's just a number.

Aaaaaand my challenge is.... #6: The Harry Potter Workout. Here's the challenge I got:

You can watch all 8 Harry Potter movies in a week, 1 (or 2) a day and follow the instructions."

SO, I'm actually pumped. I get to plan a Harry Potter marathon, which I will likely complete in a short span of time, and get some really great abs. I wonder if I could do it in a day... hmmm... let's not push anything. ;) I will update as soon as I have something to say!

Alright, I get it. Submissions the old fashioned e-mail way are no fun. So I figured out how to add a little widget, or at least I think that's what they're called. Into this lovely box you can type in your name (I don't care if it's your actual name - you could be Batman or Voldemort for all I care), your e-mail, and a little message with whatever you want me to do.

I know it's hard to get things started, but I won't have any adventures to blog about until I'm given some adventures! It doesn't even have to be something crazy, just whatever inspires you or heck, pops into your head.

Thanks in advance! ;)

So, what am I doing?

I probably just wrote ten different sentences because I don't know how to appropriately start a blog. Hi.

I'm Olivia. I'm a proud resident of south Minneapolis, a 17-year-old high school senior - well, almost - runner, skier, writer, amateur video maker, and pun enthusiast. Now a month or so into summer, I've come to the conclusion I need to do something with my time. And I've always liked blogs, although I don't completely understand how they work.

But no one wants to listen to me blog about my life, right? At least, not in a generic diary "today-i-went-running-in-the-90-degree-weather-and-then-jumped-in-the-kiddie-pool-fully-clothed" way. (True story, though.) Well, I was recently reading Psychology Today, one of my biggest geeky pleasures (no guilt necessary), and was interested by the cover story, "What Happy People Do Differently". If you want to read it online, you can do so here . Essentially, it concludes that happy people more actively take risks and get out of their comfort zones, which ultimately leads to better psychological rewards. We'd be happier people if we pushed ourselves to do new, sometimes uncomfortable things. The only problem is, it's hard when you yourself must do the pushing.

So my proposed theme is this: I will have one task/dare/challenge to complete per week. This'll be something I'm uncomfortable with, be it a social, physical, or lifestyle kind of thing. I will blog about the experience, hopefully with pictures, stories, and maybe even some philosophical life insight.

This is where y'all come in. I can't think of all these challenges myself - plus, what fun would that be? Your job is to help think of some for me. These can really be anything! You could challenge me to sing karaoke or make a homeless friend or run 10 miles carrying a raw egg, or even something deep/rewarding if you so desire. At the beginning of each week I'll throw them all in a hat and pick one out, and I promise that I will fulfill its demands to the best of my ability. Uh oh, that sounds like an oath.

Maybe I'll figure out how to make a submission form or something later, but for now you can e-mail your challenges to me at Feel free to put down multiple ones, or as many as you think of. :) I don't ask that they all be incredibly thoughtful, but try to refrain from "i dar u 2 eet yer poop" if you can help it. Also I feel like that experience would be a little too far from my comfort zone.

Just to be clear, I don't mean to conduct any sort of psychological experiment from this. I just want to have fun and try new things, and push myself to get out there and DO SOMETHING.

I'll update when I have something to update about! Get thinking and submitting - I would soo appreciate it if you did!
